Grandpa always said in gardening, a crop grown in the same field year after year wouldn’t yield successful crops. We too believe a soil change is good. If we don’t change and continually evolve, we will fail to produce the same kind of experiences you have grown to love. It’s what we do.
The last six years have been the best and most consuming journey of our lives. The crazy-good support we have had from the community, our customers, friends and family is overwhelming. The time has come for our soil to be churned up a bit. True to our roots all along, anyone who really knows us, also knows we have wanted a farm for a long time. And we bought one in September.
Since our humble beginning 2012 on Jefferson Street, we have grown unbelievably fast thanks to all of you. When we began this journey, our goal was to simplify our life and slow down our crazy world filled with two full time jobs, chaotic sports schedules and lots of corporate travel. Our kids were just beginning middle school and life seemed to be speeding up, even as we were trying to slow it down.
What’s most important to us is to continue to be a small part of each person’s story where they are in their journey. We also want to testify that God is most definitely using us as a way to serve others. So our sweet little version of a farm will be planting roots in mid October moving our family, planting our pumpkins, and seeding our flowers while getting ready for our newest adventure in 2019.
In 2019, we are moving The Marshmallow Monkey to our farm. Our farm is 25 minutes south nestled off of S.R. 252. It’s south of where we are now between Morgantown and Martinsville. When you visit, every single part of the farm experience is being designed with special touches that have been well thought out for you. We hope when you visit, you are reminded of the new beginning we embark upon and how you are part of our ever-evolving story. This has been a dream come true thanks to all of the love and support of our monkey followers, friends and family.
Aside from moving, we have some other big changes coming including the official launch of our new website that will allow you all exclusive previews and ability to buy product BEFORE anyone else can in the store with 24/7 access. We will also be offering delivery and flat rate shipping. The new website has been designed with love and purpose and a newfound focus on home, health, happiness. You can expect DIY How-Tos, recipes, and keep up with our journey on the farm. We want to be more connected with you where you are.
Help us spread the word. The Marshmallow Monkey isn’t going anywhere until 2019 and the specific date isn’t officially set yet. We plan to be here through the holiday season and slowly migrate our operations to the farm in spring of 2019. We will be streamlining our hours on the farm; open on Fridays and Saturdays only from 10am-4pm with online access to our products 24/7, 365 days a year. Shifting hours will help us keep things fresh. And like grandpa said, with a soil change, a new crop emerges. We too, will be keeping things new every week.
As we transition in 2019 with fewer hours throughout the week this will allow us more time to fulfill online orders and deliveries, serve you with interior design house calls, DIY classes and more. Want something throughout the week? Fresh flowers? A Gift? Just give us a call and we will deliver it.
But for now, we are busy elfing and ramping up for the fall and holiday seasons. We are packed to the brim preparing our store for an over-the-top season. If you stop in, you will see us busy and getting new product out every week, but also getting ready for our new website launch in mid October. It will be fresh with new content and products like grandpa’s tomatoes.
We can’t wait to share our new adventure with you. So, tune in and visit often to get the latest news on the farm and what’s coming next.
Lord knows, we aren’t finished.
